BENGALURU, 8 MARCH

Just a week after a low-intensity blast rattled Bengaluru's Rameshwaram Cafe, the beloved eatery is ready to welcome back customers from Saturday. Rituals, attended by invitees, were held and kitchen operations resumed on Friday.

Raghavendra Rao, the owner of Rameshwaram Café, said the blast had not and will not put them down. “In the past week, we have witnessed how the people of Bengaluru can come as one at a time of crisis like this. Come what may, we will always stay together and face the threats head-on. We are thankful to the government, our partners and PC Rao (Bruhat Bangalore Hotels Association President) for helping us to rise above these dark times and reopen the cafe so soon,” Raghavendra told Salar News.

PC Rao said the incident is a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance. “However, it should not deter us. The Bengaluru hospitality industry is known for its warmth and welcoming spirit. We will not let such acts define us,” he said.

Hotel owner Raghavendra said safety is their priority. "We've taken all precautions before reopening. We will be installing metal detectors and hiring additional security personnel to keep an eye on the premises. The cafe will also begin their day with the singing of the National Anthem, a symbolic gesture of unity and defiance,” he said.

Looking back on the incident, Rao said they cooperated fully with the authorities. "We have provided all CCTV footage and information to help with the investigation. And surely the culprit will be brought to justice.”

The air on Friday buzzed with a mix of relief and excitement as a homa, a traditional fire ceremony, blessed the premises. The reopening ceremony from 6pm on Friday, marked by the homa and the return of loyal customers, signifies a fresh start for the eatery.

The cafe expects a warm welcome from its loyal patrons from Saturday. “We love the people of Bengaluru. Without their love and support we would not have reached this stage,” Raghavendra said. -Salar News
