The City Crime Branch (CCB) has formally taken over the investigation into the shocking murder of retired Director General of Police (DGP) Om Prakash, who was brutally stabbed to death allegedly by his wife Pallavi, earlier this week.
Following initial proceedings by HSR Layout Police, the case was handed over to the CCB on Wednesday. The probe is now being led by ACP Dharmendra from the Women and Child Protection Wing of the CCB.
The investigation has already resulted in the arrest of Pallavi, who is currently in judicial custody. The couple’s daughter, Kriti, is now under the CCB’s radar and will be taken in for detailed questioning. Investigators believe her statements could shed further light on the motive and planning behind the murder.
Police sources confirmed that Om Prakash was attacked and fatally stabbed inside his residence in what appears to be a calculated act of domestic violence. The chilling details of the crime came to light after the couple’s son filed a complaint, leading to the swift arrest of Pallavi. The CCB is probing all angles, and further details are awaited.
