Pallavi, the wife of retired Director General of Police (DGP) Om Prakash, who
was arrested for his murder, had reportedly searched online for ways to kill a
human weeks before the crime, police said.
Meanwhile, in WhatsApp messages sent to journalists, Pallavi
claimed that she had been held hostage and poisoned by her husband.
According to police, Pallavi began plotting the murder
nearly three months ago. As part of her preparation, she repeatedly searched
Google and watched YouTube videos on topics such as “how to kill a human,” “how
to sever blood vessels,” “how chilli powder affects the eyes,” and “how to stab
the chest to cause maximum damage.” She also looked up how to stage a murder
and what precautions to take.
On Sunday, she invited her husband to lunch and allegedly
attacked him mid-meal, throwing chilli powder in his face, stabbing him, and
even pouring hot cooking oil on him.
To prevent his escape, Pallavi had allegedly taken
several precautions beforehand. Police also suspect that the couple's daughter,Krithi, may have aided her mother.
The WhatsApp messages revealed that Pallavi felt trapped
and persecuted long before the alleged murder. In several of the messages, she
claimed continued abuse and poisoning attempts.
“I am a hostage. Always under surveillance by Om Prakash’s agents wherever I
go,” she wrote.
“I have been asking him to live separately for years, but to no avail. Wherever
I go on my own, the same food and water poisoning starts. My daughter is
suffering badly now,” she added.
