Ravina, a farmer’s daughter from Nagenahalli
village, Hosadurga taluk, has achieved an exceptional feat by securing 15 gold
medals in her BVSc & AH degree from Bengaluru Veterinary College under
KVAFSU (2022-23).
In the university’s 20-year history, only one
student has won 16 gold medals, while two others, including Ravina, have
received 15.
Her father, Kumar, a small farmer, worked
tirelessly to support her education. Despite losing her mother, Saakamma,
during her pre-university studies, Ravina persevered with the support of her
family.
"The course was extended to six years due to
COVID-19. The second and third years were particularly challenging, but I
stayed determined," she told Salar News, adding that her passion for
animals and agriculture drove her career choice.
Dakshith PL from Chikkenahalli, Challakere, won
six gold medals in his MVSc degree from Bengaluru Veterinary College and is now
pursuing a PhD at KVAFSU.
Bengaluru’s Aditya Chidananda Eshwarala secured
nine gold medals in BVSc & AH. Despite securing third rank in CET, he
deliberately chose veterinary science, believing in the importance of pet
healthcare.
"This field is growing rapidly, with
significant opportunities worldwide," he shared.
KVAFSU’s 14th convocation will be held in Bidar on
25 March 25 at 11am, where 634 students will graduate. 46 outstanding students
will receive 96 gold medals, including 35 university and 61 sponsored medals.
Karnataka Governor Thawarchand Gehlot will preside over the event.
