Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday said the Centre should have called an all party meeting and convened a Parliament session before reaching an understanding with Pakistan to stop all military action.

"In my opinion they (the Central government) should have called an all-party meeting. Also, the Parliament should have been convened, because it is a very serious matter."

"A ceasefire has been declared, and both countries have come to an understanding on this. The DGMO of both countries are meeting, let's see what is decided there," Siddaramaiah said.

He also said the entire credit for the operations against the terrorists and its handlers should go to the armed forces, and that no one should claim credit for it politically.

He said that his government will support the decision of the Union government regarding initiating tough measures on Pakistan, for eliminating cross-border terrorism and other issues concerned to national security, unity and integrity of the nation.

The CM also refused to comment on Donald Trump posts announcing a ceasefire between India and Pakistan.

On comparing Indira Gandhi’s leadership during the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War and the ongoing India–Pakistan situation, he said, "It has been about 54 years since. I don't want to speak about it now."

To a question whether all Pakistani nationals in the state have left, Siddaramaiah said only three children are left were still in Mysuru.

The three children are aged below six years. Their mother is an Indian, and father, a Pakistani. "They had gone to the border, but no one came to pick them up. So they have returned," he said, adding that they were with their mother now.
