BENGALURU, 18 AUG
Movers and packers
company ‘Halef International Pvt Ltd’ has been accused of stealing items valued
at more Rs 10 lakh during a house shifting in State on 14 August.
The incident came
to light when Bengaluru resident Ankit Mayank shared his ordeal on X. Mayank
said a bag valued at Rs 8 lakh, Rs 2 lakh in cash, a pair of gold earrings, two
gold bangles and other valuable items were missing apart from damage of the assets.
The social media post includes a video showing the chaotic state of their new
home after the move. Trollies, bags and suitcases were scattered around in
disarray, with important documents strewn across the floor.
Vidyaranyapura
police said seven members of the company have been booked for the theft.
The company wrote
on X: “@mr_mayank didn't inform while booking the services with us that he is
availing the service for the transportation of cash, jewellery, antique and
ancient valuable items as we don't encourage or entertain such goods
transportation… This couple is clearly attempting to extort the company by
manipulating their social media following and making baseless claims.” —Salar
