Bengaluru, 20 April

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has warned Bengaluru-based dog breeder S Satish for making false claims on social media, including the fabrication that he owned a rare 'wolfdog' worth Rs 50 crore.

The warning follows a raid at his JP Nagar residence, initially prompted by suspicions of money laundering linked to the alleged high-value dog purchase. Investigations, however, revealed that the dog was neither rare nor foreign but of local origin—marketed misleadingly as exotic.

Satish, known for flaunting a flamboyant lifestyle, came under scrutiny for hosting extravagant pet parties and projecting an image of wealth. The ED uncovered a dubious business model involving renting dogs for Rs 10,000 and selling them for up to Rs 80,000.

Officials noted that Satish frequently rented luxury clothing and hosted flashy events, including a dog’s birthday party at a Bengaluru pub attended by celebrities such as actor Anirudh, BM Harish, and actress Sanjjanaa Galrani.

With no evidence of financial transactions involving crores, the ED has cautioned Satish against further misleading claims. If such behaviour continues, legal action will follow, the agency said.

What began as a bizarre claim about a luxury canine has evolved into a stark warning about social media deception and the role of enforcement agencies in curbing it.
