BENGALURU, 15 AUG
A woman in
Bengaluru has taken to social media in a desperate attempt to find her techie
husband, who has been untraceable since 4 August.
Sreeparna Dutta,
wife of 37-year-old Vipin Gupta, a software professional hailing from Lucknow,
has sought help from all quarters in locating her husband.
Speaking to Salar
News on Wednesday, Dutta said: “Despite filing an FIR, there has been minimal
progress in the case. Police told me that Vipin was last seen near Kodigehalli
at 12.42pm on 4 August. From there, CCTVs in nearby locations were not
functioning’’.
She said: “Vipin
was wearing a beige jacket and dark grey track pants, and was on his green
Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle. He has left his laptop at home and his mobile phone
remains switched off. I am surprised that Rs.1.8 lakh was withdrawn from his
account after he disappeared.’’
She said police
confirmed to her that Gupta had not left the country and CCTV footage from bus
and railway stations have also proven that he has not travelled or logged in
from anywhere.
According to sources close to the family, as soon as police investigations began, Dutta received three calls. One of the calls, which lasted less than a minute, gave a location and demanded a ransom for releasing Gupta. The second call increased the ransom amount. Dutta has also received threatening messages on her mobile phone and her social media handle. —Salar News
