BENGALURU, 3 AUG

A 57-year-old male passenger jumped in front of an approaching Metro train at Doddakallasandra station in an alleged suicide bid, disrupting Bengaluru Metro's Green Line services for three hours. The incident happened at 5.41 PM on Saturday, BMRCL said. The reason for the suicide remains unknown, and the deceased has not yet been identified.

The body was found under the metro train. Shortly after the incident, power was cut, halting metro traffic abruptly. The train was stopped just before arriving at the station, and at least 100-150 passengers were asked to get down and use the footpath along with the bridge to continue their journey towards the station.

The Konnakunte police station responded to the scene. This tragic event marks the second such incident in recent times. On 1 August, a four-year-old boy narrowly escaped after falling onto the tracks at Baiyappanahalli Metro Station. -Salar News
