BENGALURU 26 JULY
City police have formed three teams
to nab a Bhopal native who murdered a 24-year-old woman at a paying guest
accommodation in Koramangala on Tuesday night.
After stabbing Bihar native Kruthi
Kumari, Abhishek turned off his mobile phone and fled. The police teams have been
dispatched to Bhopal and other parts of Madhya Pradesh, City Police
Commissioner B Dayananda said on Friday.
Investigations revealed that Abhishek
was in a relationship with Kumari’s friend and colleague, whose name has been
withheld by police. Abhishek was a frequent visitor to the PG accommodation and
travelled often from Bhopal to Bengaluru to see his girlfriend. However, the
relationship deteriorated, and Kumari and her friends cut off all ties with
Abhishek.
Kumari helped her friend move to a
new PG accommodation and avoided Abhishek’s calls. Upset by this, Abhishek
visited the PG facility where Kumari was staying and stabbed her.
Police reviewed the CCTV footage of
the murder at VR Layout. When Kumari was attacked, the hostel inmates were
scared and out of their wits as to how to save the victim, police said.
The footage showed Abhishek walking
towards Kumari’s room with a plastic bag in his hand. He entered the room and,
minutes later, dragged Kumari out as she tried to escape his grip. He pulled
her by the neck and repeatedly stabbed her. Kumari fell to the ground, and
Abhishek ensured she was dead before fleeing the scene. The hostel inmates then
opened their doors and made frantic calls as Kumari bled to death. -Salar News
