Bengaluru, 13 June

Commuters on Bengaluru's busy Metro Purple Line were left frustrated on Thursday morning after a technical snag at Trinity Station caused delays in train services. Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) identified the issue at 9:58 am, leading to temporary disruptions and overcrowding at stations.

Many commuters, like IT employee Ajay Rao, expressed their annoyance at the recurring technical problems. "These snags are becoming too common and disruptive," Rao told Salar News. "The BMRCL needs to improve management to ensure smoother operations."

BMRCL officials swiftly isolated the affected train and moved it to a side track at Kempegowda Station for repairs. However, another commuter, Charan Nag Shetty, criticised the lack of timely updates. "They should inform us about these issues as soon as possible so we can make alternative arrangements," Shetty said.

Regular train services resumed on the Purple Line by 11.30 am.  While the nature of the technical snag remains undisclosed, BMRCL assured the public they are working to prevent similar disruptions in the future.

This incident adds to a string of setbacks for the Purple Line. Earlier this month, a man jumping onto the tracks at Hosahalli Station caused delays, and a tragic incident in March saw a student lose their life after falling onto the tracks. -Salar News
