Man ‘threatens’ woman govt officer in Karnataka CM’s constituency

The
Mysuru South Police have registered a case against a landowner for allegedly
abusing, threatening, and obstructing a woman government officer from
performing her duties in Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s constituency. The
incident comes close on the heels of the Sidlaghatta row.
The
incident occurred on 31 December, but came to light after two officers leaked
the audio to the media recently.
Puttaswamy
had allegedly encroached on land that the government had notified 20-acres of
land in Gudamadanahalli village, in Varuna assembly segment, Mysuru, for
constructing a NIMHANS hospital unit. He was allegedly cultivating arecanut on
the land.
When
Bandipalya Panchayat development officer G Bhavya and village assistant
Naveenkumar came to the site on 31 December, Puttaswamy allegedly abused them
and prevented them from carrying out the land acquisition.
This
comes days after Congress leader Rajeev Gowda threatened Sidlaghatta Municipal
Corporation Commissioner Amrutha Gowda over the alleged removal of flex
banners.
