Suchana Seth, the CEO of a Bengaluru-based AI startup who allegedly killed her four-year-old son, buckled under pressure and started to cooperate with probe on Saturday after being a tough nut to crack in the interrogation till the day before, Jaspal Singh, Director General of Police, Goa, told Salar News.

Suchana, who was named as 100 Brilliant Women in Al Ethics list, is exhibiting shrewdness during the investigation, police said. “We have a watertight case in hand and my team is working around the clock. We will ensure that justice is meted out to the child,” Singh told Salar News in a phone interview from Goa Police Headquarters in Panaji on Saturday.

Suchana, a 39-year-old entrepreneur from Bengaluru, had tried to harm herself after allegedly killing her son. Bloodstains found at the murder scene in Goa belonged to Suchana and she may have tried to slit her wrists after committing the crime, the top cop said.

After killing her son, Suchana had attempted to hide the body in a bag filled with toys and clothes, police said. She wrote a note with eyeliner and left it in a bag with her son's body, they added.

On Friday, she was taken by Calangute police to the apartment hotel at Candolim where the crime took place to ‘recreate’ the crime scene. Suchana was given an object the size of her son, to show the police how she packed the body into a bag. Suchana also showed the scissors with which she had cut her wrist.

Suchana continues to deny that she killed her son, they said.

Nidhin Valsan, Superintendent of Police, Goa, who is heading the investigation, said: “The case is pending investigation and I will not be able to comment.’’ —Salar News
