Karnataka inks MoUs with Coinbase, Refroid to boost deep-tech and digital innovation
State aims to become India’s leading deep-tech and on-chain innovation hub with new partnerships.

The Karnataka government has signed two pivotal Memoranda of
Understanding aimed at establishing the State as India's premier innovation hub
and a global centre for deep-tech.
The first MoU, inked with Coinbase India, a digital asset
exchange platform, seeks to bolster Karnataka's reputation as an on-chain
innovation capital and a cybersecurity centre of excellence. Under the
agreement, collaboration will focus on strengthening the blockchain ecosystem
through developer education, startup incubation, and public awareness
initiatives.
The second MoU, with Refroid Technologies, introduces a
cutting-edge, energy-efficient liquid-cooling portfolio tailored for
next-generation AI and hyperscale workloads, aligning with India's ambition to
"innovate for the world".
IT Minister Priyank Kharge remarked, "Through these
partnerships, we aim to unlock new economic opportunities for our youth, build
strong technical capability, and move rapidly toward our vision of making
Karnataka a global pioneer in digital innovation."
Manjula N, Secretary of the Department of Electronics,
Information Technology, Biotechnology, and Science and Technology, added that
these initiatives would "catapult the state into a new realm of deep-tech
economy and development."
