Three men have been arrested here for allegedly assaulting a motorcyclist and threatening to kill him near the Ayyappa Temple in Shantinagar on 15 November, police said on Sunday. Wilson Garden police made the arrests and recovered two firearms, two mobile phones, a silver chain and a stolen two-wheeler from the suspects.

DCP (Central) Akshay M Hakay said the complainant was intercepted around 5am by three attackers who assaulted him with a weapon, issued death threats and fled with his belongings. A case was filed, and investigators traced and detained the trio after sustained questioning.

Police said the accused had earlier stolen a two-wheeler and used it to intimidate people by brandishing firearms. They allegedly robbed mobile phones and jewellery from multiple victims.

The operation was supervised by Central Division DCP Akshay M Hakay and Halasurugate Sub-Division Acting Commissioner of Police Sudeer S, with Wilson Garden Police Inspector Farooq Pasha and his team executing the arrests.
