Bengaluru, 12 Nov

Karnataka Science and Technology Minister NS Boseraju on Wednesday directed officials to create a ‘Karnataka Quantum Ecosystem Map,’ modelled on Switzerland’s acclaimed Swissnex Quantum Map, which showcases global quantum science and innovation hubs.

Chairing a meeting with Swissnex India CEO and Consul General Angela Honegger at Vikas Soudha, Boseraju said the map would compile a comprehensive database of all institutions, startups, and industries active in the State’s quantum technology sector.

The initiative follows Boseraju’s visit to Switzerland, where he attended the Swissnex Quantum and GESDA conferences and met researchers from ETH Zurich and CERN to explore collaborations in quantum innovation.

Honegger welcomed the plan, saying the Swissnex model has become a global reference for mapping and connecting research entities worldwide. A similar platform, she noted, could strengthen India–Switzerland partnerships in emerging technologies.

The meeting also proposed a Karnataka–Swissnex Joint Desk to serve as a single-window platform for joint research, startup facilitation, and policy alignment in quantum computing, AI, and sustainable innovation.
