IAF Chief calls for training overhaul to meet global threats

Air Chief Marshal AP Singh on Friday underscored the need to transform military training to keep the Indian Air Force (IAF) adaptable, efficient, and combat-ready amid evolving global threats and emerging technologies.
He was speaking at the Training Command Commanders’ Conference 2025, held at the IAF Headquarters Training Command in Bengaluru on 23–24 October. The two-day event was attended by commanders from all training establishments under the command.
According to an official statement, discussions focused on transforming training philosophy, modernising infrastructure, and aligning instructional methods with the IAF’s operational requirements.
The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) reviewed the performance of all training establishments, lauding their achievements while identifying areas for improvement. He praised the Training Command for its commitment to excellence and reiterated that continuous transformation in training was crucial to meet future challenges.
As part of the event, the CAS presented awards recognising excellence in operations, maintenance, and administration. The Air Force Academy received the ‘Pride of the Training Command’ trophy for outstanding performance, the statement said.
