In a recent twist in the ongoing investigation into State Housing Minister Zameer Ahmad Khan’s alleged illegal assets, popular actress and film producer Radhika Kumarswamy is now under scrutiny by the Lokayukta. Investigators have revealed that Radhika extended a Rs 2 crore loan to Minister Khan, a transaction now pivotal to the expanding probe. 

Summoned by Lokayukta officials, Radhika has reportedly provided an official statement regarding the financial matter. According to sources, she asserted that the loan was financed from the profits of her 2012 film, ‘Lucky’. She has been requested to submit relevant documentation to validate her claims.

This inquiry originates from a 2019 investigation into the I Monetary Advisory (IMA) scam, a significant financial fraud. Following an Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid on Khan, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) filed a case against him for purported illegal wealth accumulation. With the ACB disbanded, Lokayukta police have assumed responsibility for the case.

The summons to Radhika followed Khan’s written admission of receiving the Rs 2 crore loan, which she described as a friendly gesture during a time of need.
