The Central Crime Branch (CCB) of Bengaluru has named Pallavi, the wife of former Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) Om Prakash, as the prime accused in his killing.
Prakash, a 1981-batch IPS officer, was allegedly murdered on 20 April at the couple’s residence in HSR Layout, Bengaluru. Due to the seriousness of the case, the Karnataka government transferred the investigation to the CCB.
In its 1,150-page charge sheet filed before the First ACMM Court, the CCB stated that Pallavi has been arrested on murder charges and remains in judicial custody.
The couple’s daughter, Kriti, has been cleared of any involvement. Investigators found she was on the upper floor of the house at the time and that no credible evidence linked her to a conspiracy.
CCB officials said sufficient material had been gathered to prosecute Pallavi in a case that has drawn nationwide attention.
