A college student was allegedly raped by two teachers of a
private college in Bengaluru and their friend on multiple occasions.
The trio was arrested following a complaint lodged by the
victim with the Karnataka State Women's Commission. The accused are Narendra, a
Physics lecturer; Sandeep, a Biology lecturer; and Anup, a friend of the two.
According to the police complaint, Narendra first approached
the student under the pretext of sharing academic notes. He then called her to
Anup's room in Bengaluru, where he allegedly raped her and threatened her if
she told anyone about the rape.
Days later, Sandeep also forced himself on her. When she
resisted, he allegedly blackmailed her, claiming to have photos and videos of
her with Narendra. He also allegedly raped her at Anup's residence.
Anup, the third accused, is said to have raped the student
after threatening her with claims of possessing CCTV footage of her visiting
his room.
The sequence of assaults is believed to have taken place
over a month ago, but the matter came to light only after the student informed
her parents. A formal complaint was then submitted to the Karnataka State
Women’s Commission. Acting on the commission’s directions, the Marathahalli
Police registered a First Information Report (FIR) and arrested all three
accused.
