The
Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday conducted searches at the homes of
State Congress MLA SN Subba Reddy and several others as part of a Foreign
Exchange Management Act (FEMA) investigation concerning the alleged possession
of undisclosed foreign assets, according to official sources.
The
operation involved at least five locations in Bengaluru, including the
residence of the Bagepalli legislator, under section 37 of FEMA. The
investigation focuses on claims regarding undisclosed foreign assets owned by
Reddy, aged 59, and his family members.
The ED
is scrutinising several deposits allegedly maintained by the MLA in foreign
banks, as well as investments in vehicles and properties in countries such as
Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Germany. Efforts to contact the MLA, who represents
the Bagepalli assembly constituency in Chikkaballapura district, for comment
were unsuccessful.
