Disgruntled JD(S)
MLA and former minister GT Devegowda, who is maintaining distance from party
activities, said on Wednesday that he will decide his next political move after
discussing it with people of his Chamundeshwari assembly segment.
Speaking to
reporters here, he said that his voters will decide whether he should stay with
the JD(S) or join either Congress or BJP.
“I may have
supported BJP to make Yediyurappa the chief minister once, but now I am elected
from JD(S). There are still three years left for the assembly polls. Even
though I am upset with party leaders for not recognising my seniority while
choosing JD(S) floor leader in the assembly, I will continue with the party.
On Wednesday,
Devegowda also participated in an indefinite strike by members of Mysuru City
Corporation (MCC) Pourakarmika Federation outside the MCC office of in the
city.
He appealed to
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy CM DK Shivakumar and Urban Development
Minister Byrathi Suresh to respond immediately to the agitating workers’
demands, as continued strike will affect civic services, such as the removal of
garbage across the city.
