BJP leader R Ashoka on Thursday criticised Karnataka
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for repeatedly asserting he would serve a full
five-year term, calling it a direct affront to the Congress high command and
its internal commitments.
Ashoka, Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka
Assembly, said Siddaramaiah’s insistence on completing a full term, despite
rumours of a power-sharing pact with Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, was
not confidence but “defiance”.
“What happened to the high command’s will? Has it been
reduced to a rubber stamp? Or has Siddaramaiah declared independence from party
discipline?” he asked in a post on X.
