Hours after the press conference, a leaked video of a senior Congress leader BR Patil triggered a fresh fire.

In the video, Aland Congress MLA can be heard talking over the phone saying, "(Chief Minister) Siddaramaiah hit a lottery. I was the one who introduced him to Sonia Gandhi. His fortunes were good and he became the Chief Minister. I have no Godfather or God. I met (Randeep Singh) Surjewala and said everything I had to. They heard me out with patience, let's see what happens."

Patil earlier had a leaked phone call where he alleged rampant corruption in housing allotment, which triggered a massive row in the State.

"I was among the eight MLAs who quit JD(S) and joined the Congress. A few are MLAs, and some others have become ministers. Lucky among us was Siddaramaiah as he became the Chief Minister," Patil later told reporters.

Reacting to the development, Siddaramaiah said "Yes, I am lucky. That's why I became the Chief Minister."
