Former chief minister Basavaraj Bommai, has raised concerns over the state government's handling of illegal mining cases, following a letter from Law Minister HK Patil expressing dissatisfaction with the situation. Speaking to the media after inaugurating a tile and granite showroom, Bommai highlighted that currently, 90 per cent of illegal mining cases remain unresolved, a significant issue raised by Patil.

Bommai questioned how Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, leading the Congress government, would respond to the criticisms from his own cabinet member. “HK Patil has highlighted the critical point that the majority of cases registered regarding illegal mining are still pending resolution,” he stated.

He further remarked that the people of the State are eager to see the actions Siddaramaiah will take in light of such concerns. Additionally, Bommai commented on Congress MLA BR Patil's recent remarks, suggesting that the party demonstrates a lack of respect for those willing to speak out against corruption within its ranks.
