BENGALURU, 18 JUNE


City will host the 7th GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) Regional Conclave on June 20, focusing on transforming climate ambitions into tangible change in urban India. Inaugurated by Dinesh Gundu Rao, Karnataka's Minister for Health and Family Welfare, the conclave marks a series of regional engagements leading to the 17th GRIHA Summit in New Delhi on November 3-4.

This year's theme, "Innovate to Act for a Climate Resilient World," aims to unite a diverse group of stakeholders, including policymakers, architects, engineers, and sustainability advocates, for discussions on climate-resilient solutions.

Key topics will address Bengaluru's pressing challenges: its worsening water crisis, waste management issues, and traffic congestion. Sessions include “Drops of Change: Innovative Solutions to Water Woes,” “Waste Not, Want Not: Path to Sustainable Waste Management,” and “Navigating Namma Bengaluru: Steering Towards Sustainable Mobility.”

Notable speakers include Snehal R, Zonal Commissioner at BBMP, and MN Anucheth, Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic. A ceremony will recognise exemplary contributions to sustainable development, concluding with a keynote address from Rajeshwari S Basur, Chief Architect of the Public Works Department.
