Nomination filing for 17 seats on MCDCC Bank board concluded in Mysuru with polls set for 26 June after a yearlong delay

MYSURU, 18 JUNE
The filing of nomination papers for elections to the board of directors of the Mysuru-Chamarajanagar District Central Cooperative (MCDCC) Bank concluded on Wednesday.
The polls to elect 17 directors for MCDCC Bank will take place on 26 June.
Candidates accompanied by party workers and supporters arrived at the Mysuru district administration’s office to file the nominations.
MLAs GD Harish Gowda, HD Kote MLA Anil Chikkamadu, former MLA Sunitha J Veerappagowda and several other big wigs in cooperatives filed their nominations on Wednesday.
Even former minister Chamarajanagar MLA C Puttarangashetty, MLA HM Ganeshprasad, former MLA R Narendra, others have also filed nominations for this election in Chamarajanagar district.
The cooperative bank with an annual turnover of Rs 2500cr, plays a crucial role in agriculture financing in Mysuru and Chamarajanagar districts.
MCDCC Bank’s outgoing president, Harish Gowda exuded confidence about his victory in the polls while filing his nomination papers in Hunsur constituency.
He said that he had worked hard to strengthen the MCDCC bank, with its deposits increasing to Rs 1,000 cr now from Rs 370 cr before 10 years.
Elections to elect the bank’s board of directors are being held after a year’s delay following directions from the court.
