KRS dam may reach maximum level in a week
KRS dam nears full capacity as heavy inflow continues while Nanjangud faces flood like situation due to water release from Kabini

The KRS dam could reach its maximum level in around a week, given its current storage level and inflow. The water level in the dam reached 113ft against a maximum level of 124.8ft and holds 35.118 TMC water against a maximum of 49.452 TMC. It is receiving close to 2.5 TMC per day. With the upstream Harangi dam releasing 18,000 cusecs of water, the inflow is likely to remain close to 30,000 cusecs this week. Meanwhile, Nanjangud in Mysuru district witnessed a flood-like situation as the water discharge from Kabini dam in HD Kote taluk was stepped up to 25,000 cusecs.
