BENGALURU, 17 JUNE

Alliance Française de Bangalore is set to host the Fête de la Musique on 21 June embracing a global celebration of music. Director Jean-Marc Depierre noted that this annual event, initiated in France in 1982, coincides with the summer solstice and encourages music to resonate throughout the streets and cafes.  This year promises to be the institute's largest celebration to date, featuring over 100 performances across two stages, in collaboration with the Indian Music Experience Museum. “We first celebrated in the 1990s but paused due to COVID-19. After a small event in 2022, we are thrilled to revive the festival now,” said Depierre. Performers will include the Vasu Dixit Collective, Suraj Mani of Mother Jane, and Bruce Lee Mani of Thermal and a Quarter, alongside movie screenings, workshops, and interactive displays. Entry is free and open to all.
