Mysuru, 8 June

Union Minister of State for Railways V Somanna on Sunday directed the officials to complete all ongoing railway projects on war footing measures within stipulated dates in Mysuru railway division.

He was speaking after reviewing development works at the meeting held at the office of Divisional Railway Manager.

The Minister also gave directions to railway department officers to promote Kannada as administrative language at levels of their governance. He warned that officers will be punished if they found wrongdoing, involved in dereliction of duty, they will be transferred to other states.   

Divisional Railway Manager Mudit Mittal explained about extension of additional five platforms, construction of skywalk, sub way, new official quarters and other features as part of modernisation of Mysuru Railway Station under Rs 439 crore project.  

 He said that his department has identified 8 acres and 29 gunts of land for extension of Naganahalli Railwayyard project. His department has written a letter to the State government to clear the hurdles related to land acquisition for this project.
