Bengaluru, 5 June 

Visthar’s much-loved annual eco-festival, “Bhoomi Habba – The Earth Festival”, returns on 7 June 2025, from 10am to 7pm at the Visthar Campus. Celebrated for nearly two decades, the event coincides with World Environment Day and focuses this year on climate resilience and sustainable communities.

"Bhoomi Habba counters the profit-driven view of nature with a vision rooted in love, equity, and justice," said Mercy Kappen, Executive Director, Visthar. The festival will feature performances, workshops, film screenings, exhibitions, and eco-enterprises, all designed to spark reflection and action for a sustainable future.

Highlights include Indian folk music, dance, and storytelling by performers such as Anuradha Venkatraman, Santi Priya, and Mayuri. Workshops will cover seed ball making, eco-art, pottery, handmade paper, and a Moving Tree nature walk. Thought-provoking films like Waste and the City will be followed by expert-led discussions.

The festival also includes the “Soil Exhibition” by Soil Vasu, poster displays on gender and climate, and traditional Indian games. Over 70 stalls will showcase eco-friendly products by collectives like Timbaktu, Black Baza Coffee, and Desi Trust.

Born as a “Festival of Just Peace,” Bhoomi Habba has evolved to address ecological justice. With inclusive programming for all ages, it encourages practical learning and community engagement.
