Lokayukta conducts statewide raids on officials in seven districts over possession of assets beyond known income sources across Karnataka

Karnataka Lokayukta officials conducted extensive raids at multiple locations across the state on Saturday, targeting government officials accused of accumulating assets disproportionate to their legitimate income sources. The operation encompassed seven districts: Belagavi, Bagalkote, Ballari, Udupi, Davanagere, Dharwad, and Gadag, as detailed in a press statement.
The raids focused on several officials, including Siddalingappa, District Manager at D Devaraj Urs Backward Abhivrudhi Nigama in Belagavi; Shaila Subash Tatrani, First Division Assistant in the Grameen Abhivrudhi and Panchyatraj Department in Bagalkote; and Amin Mukthar Ahmed, Superintendent Engineer for the Public Works Department in Ballari.
Other officials implicated in the raids are Ramkrishna, Panchayat Development Officer at Grama Panchayat Bada Village in Shiggaon Haveri; Girish Rao, Accountant at MESCOM in Karkala; Gangadhar Shirol, Project Director at Nirmiti Kendra in Gadag; and H Suresh, Chief Engineer for the Public Works Department, Communications and Building (N) Zone in Dharwad, according to the statement from Lokayukta officials.
