A food
delivery app company has issued a formal apology after one of its executives
allegedly assaulted a customer in Basaveshwara Nagar over a minor error in the
delivery address.
The
incident occurred on 21 May when, the customer, Shashank's wife placed an order
through the app. The delivery executive, Vishnuvardhan, reportedly became
aggressive after a one-digit mistake in the address caused confusion. When
Shashank stepped outside to clarify the issue, an argument escalated, resulting
in the executive allegedly attacking him.
CCTV
footage from the residence captured the assault. Shashank sustained an injury
near his eye, with doctors warning that surgery may be required if healing
doesn't progress.
Following
a formal complaint, an FIR was registered at the Basaveshwara Nagar police
station. The accused has since been taken into custody for questioning.
The delivery company meanwhile apologised to Shashank and assured full cooperation with the investigation. Shashank has urged authorities to ensure justice and prevent such incidents in the future.
