Bengaluru 22 May

Basaveshwaranagar police are investigating two unrelated but concerning cases — one involving a missing elderly man and the other, an unclaimed body of a woman who died earlier this month.

A 62-year-old man, Maruti, who had recently arrived from Davanagere to stay with his son in Basaveshwaranagar, went missing on the morning of 20 May. According to his family, he left home around 9.15am for a walk at Udayaravi Park but never returned. Maruti reportedly suffers from nerve-related issues and mild memory loss. Police have urged anyone with information to contact Basaveshwara Nagar Police Station at 080-22942516 or his son Rakesh at 81235 55949.

In a separate incident, the body of a 75-year-old woman, identified as Muniyamma, was discovered on May 10 in a small room where she lived in Mahaganapathi Nagar. Known to sell flowers for a living, she was reportedly suffering from health issues. Though she mentioned having a daughter, no family member has come forward so far to claim her body. Basaveshwara Nagar police have requested anyone with information to contact the station.
