In the wake of heavy rains that battered several parts of the city, Lokayukta Justice BS Patil and Upa Lokayukta Justice Veerappa conducted a spot inspection of the worst-hit areas on Thursday.
The officials visited flood-prone zones, including Silk Board Junction, Panathur Cross, Panathur Main Road, and Sai Layout, where residents have raised concerns about persistent flooding and civic negligence.
During the visit, the Lokayukta team reviewed the progress of drainage work, road widening, and the construction of an underpass near the railway crossing. Expressing strong displeasure over the incomplete infrastructure projects, Justice Patil pulled up civic officials and instructed them to expedite all pending works without further delay.
The inspection highlighted poor planning and lack of coordination among agencies, which continue to leave low-lying areas vulnerable during the monsoon.
Justice Phaneendra and several senior civic officials were also part of the inspection team. The Lokayukta has reportedly sought a follow-up report on the status of these projects.
