Mysuru, 17 May

A “Divyachetana SM Krishna Endowment Award” has been instituted in memory of former chief minister SM Krishna to inspire students. Maddur MLA KM Uday and MLC Dinesh Guligowda on Saturday handed over a ₹10 lakh cheque to University of Mysore Vice-Chancellor Prof Lokanath and ₹5 lakh to Ramakrishna Ashram’s Swami Muktidananda.

The award will honour top two rank holders of the University and the Ashram’s school. Uday and Guligowda said Krishna, who studied at the Ashram, rose through discipline and dedication to serve as CM, Union Minister, and Governor. Swamiji and Prof Lokanath praised the gesture, noting the award will motivate future generations.
