A 19-year-old delivery boy was allegedly abducted and murdered on Saturday
night in the Devanahalli police limits. The victim, Preetham, was a resident of
Neeruguntepalya on the outskirts of Bengaluru. His body was discovered on
Sunday morning in a thicket near Kodi Manjanahalli.
According to police, Preetham had been in a relationship
with a woman two years his senior, currently pursuing an MBBS degree. The
relationship was reportedly disapproved of by the woman’s family and relatives,
who had recently warned Preetham to stay away from her. Despite their
objections, he is believed to have continued contact with her.
It is suspected that some of the woman’s relatives
abducted Preetham in a car, took him to a secluded area, assaulted him, and
then murdered him. His body was later dumped in nearby bushes.
A local resident discovered the body on Sunday morning
and alerted the Devanahalli police.
Police have detained several of the woman’s relatives for questioning and have launched a manhunt to apprehend the remaining suspects.
