Bengaluru, 3 May

An elderly woman has lost her life after being struck by a speeding tipper lorry while attempting to cross the road near Richmond Road here. 

The victim, Mary Victoria, 83, was a resident of Ramamurthy Nagar. She had reportedly attended a prayer service at a church and was on her way back home around 1.30pm on 2 May when the accident occurred.

Mary was crossing the road near Fatima Bakery on Richmond Road when a tipper vehicle rammed into her. She sustained severe injuries.
Passers-by rushed her to the hospital immediately, where she succumbed to her injuries.
The police have registered a case. Efforts are underway to trace the driver of the vehicle.
