Bengaluru, 17 April

Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday raided the JP Nagar residence of S Satish, a self-proclaimed dog breeder who made headlines for buying a rare ‘wolfdog’ worth Rs 50 crore. The ED has now exposed the claim as a hoax aimed at garnering media attention.

Satish had claimed that the canine, an 8-month-old, 75 kg mix between a wild wolf and a Caucasian Shepherd — named 'Wolfdog Cadabom Okami' — was imported from the US at a cost of £4.4 million (Rs 49.7 crore), branding it the most expensive dog in the world.

ED officials, however, found no evidence of any such transaction. Investigations revealed that Satish had rented exotic-looking dogs from breeders and passed them off as his own in staged videos and interviews.

Satish, who also heads a dog breeders’ association, claimed to earn thousands of pounds from showcasing his dogs at private events. He further boasted of housing rare breeds on a seven-acre high-security property.

The ED is now probing Satish for tax evasion, GST violations, and financial misrepresentation. Officials allege he used social media and press coverage to spread false information for personal gain.
