In a record, BBMP collects Rs 4,930 crore in property tax
BBMP is now targeting Rs 6,000 crore in collections for FY 2025–26.

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) collected Rs 4,930.36 crore in
property tax for the financial year 2024–25.This marks a sharp increase of over
Rs 1,000 crore from Rs 3,918 crore collected in 2023–24. Notably, this surge
was achieved without raising tax rates.
BBMP Special Commissioner (Revenue) Munish Moudgil credited
the success to a systematic IT-based strategy, robust arrear recovery, and
on-ground enforcement. “We introduced SOPs and recovery rules, and our teams
conducted door-to-door follow-ups,” he told Salar News on Monday.
BBMP is now targeting Rs 6,000 crore in collections for FY
2025–26.
Among zones, Yelahanka led with Rs 464.66 crore against a
target of Rs 445.24 crore (104.36 per cent). Mahadevapura closely followed,
collecting ₹1,310.58 crore (100.12 per cent).
Overall, BBMP achieved 94.62 per cent of its ₹5,210.47 crore
target for FY 2024–25.
