BENGALURU 13 APRIL
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the suicide of
lawyer Jeeva submitted a 2,300-page final report to the High Court, confirming
key allegations mentioned in her suicide note and establishing links to the Rs
34-crore scam in the Karnataka Bhovi Development Corporation.
The report includes forensic evidence, post-mortem findings, and an analysis of
Jeeva’s 13-page handwritten suicide note. Sources confirm that Deputy
Superintendent of Police (DySP) Kanakalakshmi’s name figures prominently, with
evidence of mental harassment during CID interrogations.
S Jeeva, 33, had died by suicide at her residence in Banashankari on 22
November after being summoned by CID officers in connection with a scam
involving Rs 34 crore, of which Rs 7.16 crore was transferred to Jeeva’s firm,
Annika Enterprises, and Rs 3.79 crore to Harnitha Creations, registered under
her sister’s name.
In her suicide note, she alleged she was being mentally and
physically harassed and interrogated without formal notice.
Following Jeeva’s death, her younger sister Sangeetha filed a complaint
accusing CID officers of humiliation and extortion. Based on her complaint,
Banashankari Police registered an FIR against CID personnel under sections
related to abetment of suicide and corruption.
The SIT’s findings now pave the way for possible legal action against the
officers involved.
