Light rains to continue in the City until Sunday

IMD has issued a yellow alert for most of State—excluding Raichur, Yadgir, Kalaburagi, and Bidar—where dry weather will prevail.

BENGALURU, 12 APRIL

The City may continue to experience light to moderate rains until 13 April, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting thundershowers till 13 April. Winds may gust at 40–50 km/h, and temperatures will range between 33 degrees Celsius during the day and 22 degrees Celsius at night. Skies are expected to remain partly cloudy, with intermittent showers offering momentary relief.
According to IMD, moderate rain and thunderstorms are likely on Saturday in parts of Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, and Kodagu. Coastal districts may witness isolated rain with thunder and gusty winds. In southern interior districts like Ballari, Bengaluru Rural, Mandya, Kolar, Tumakuru and others, patchy rainfall is forecast. Meanwhile, most northern and interior districts may remain largely dry barring brief showers in isolated locations.
Friday’s weather saw varied conditions across State. While coastal towns like Mangaluru stayed around 33–34 degrees Celsius, northern districts such as Bidar, Kalaburagi, and Raichur sizzled at 37–39 degrees Celsius. Hill towns like Hassan and Madikeri remained cooler at 29–31 degrees Celsius. City, along with Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, and Shivamogga, settled in the 32–34 degrees Celsius range.
Scattered rain was reported in Bengaluru and other districts on Friday. IMD has issued a yellow alert for most of State—excluding Raichur, Yadgir, Kalaburagi, and Bidar—where dry weather will prevail.
