BENGALURU 10 APRIL

In a series of bizarre thefts across the City, burglars are seem to be making off with anything they can lay their hands on — from cash and watches to, quite incredibly, LPG cylinders.

Recent cases reported in Indiranagar and Begur suggest that thieves are now targeting not just valuables, but even household essentials, leaving residents stunned and police scrambling to identify the culprits.

In one such incident, an unidentified man broke into a house and made away with valuables including Rs 20,000 in cash, a wristwatch and an office bag. The theft occurred around 3pm on Tuesday, when the house owner, Janith, had stepped out briefly to speak with a neighbour, leaving the main door ajar.
CCTV footage from the premises captured the suspect in action and a case has been registered at the Indiranagar police station. Officers said the accused has been identified and efforts are on to arrest him.
In another incident reported at AECS Layout under the Begur police limits, two youths were caught on camera stealing an LPG cylinder from an apartment basement. Police believe the duo had stolen another cylinder, as CCTV footage shows one already loaded onto their scooter.
Police urged citizens to remain vigilant, secure their premises and alert police in the case of any suspicious activities.
