Duo arrested for Rs 2.46 crore heist in Bengaluru
Police recovered Rs 2.20 crore and two vehicles worth Rs 15 lakh.

Two men were arrested for stealing Rs 2.46 crore in cash from a real estate
businessman in the city. The accused, Manjunath, a cab driver and former tenant
of the victim, and Krishna Kumar, a JCB operator, were apprehended by
Subramanyapura police.
Businessman Sukumar and his partner Kavita had recently sold
4.18 acres of land, collecting Rs 2.47 crore at the Kanakapura sub-registrar
office. To safely transport the money home, Sukumar hired a cab driven by
Manjunath. After a brief stop at an ATM on Uttarahalli Main Road, Manjunath
fled with the cash.
Police later found that Manjunath had swapped the cab with a Swift near KIMS Hospital, aided by Krishna Kumar. The duo transferred the money and abandoned the Innova. Police recovered Rs 2.20 crore and two vehicles worth Rs 15 lakh.
