Police have detained a man for questioning regarding the suspicious death of his wife, 44-year-old Hema, in Nanjappa Layout, Adugodi. The incident, which surfaced on Saturday, has intensified concerns about rising crime in the city.

Hema’s family alleges she had claimed her husband was having an extramarital affair, even providing accommodation for another woman nearby. In January, Hema reportedly attempted suicide by ingesting poison, with disputes escalating between the couple thereafter. Her family now alleges these conflicts may have culminated in her murder.

During police questioning, her husband contended that she took her own life due to worries about their daughter's education. However, no witnesses saw her in a hanging position. Following an examination of her body at the hospital, family members expressed suspicions of foul play. An investigation is ongoing.
