BENGALURU, 8 MARCH

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Karnataka has commended Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s 16th budget for fortifying the state’s status as an economic powerhouse, focusing on growth, sustainability, and technological progress. Chairman N Venu praised the budget's emphasis on renewable energy and smart infrastructure, stating, "Expanding solar parks and promoting electric vehicles will accelerate Karnataka’s clean energy transition." Vice Chairman Rabindra Srikantan welcomed initiatives like the Karnataka AI Innovation Hub, aimed at enhancing the digital landscape and creating jobs outside Bengaluru. Nagaraja Gargeshwari celebrated new IT hubs in Mysuru and Hubballi, while Mahesh Bhirangi highlighted the upcoming Global Technology Centres as a boon for startups. A Rs 200 crore allocation for tourism infrastructure in coastal districts was also welcomed, reinforcing the government's commitment to sustainable investment and innovation-driven development.
