BENGALURU, 8 MARCH

A 32-year-old bank employee, Vivek Samadarshi, tragically died by suicide at his flat in Talaghattapura late on Friday evening. Vivek, who worked in the loan department at ICICI Bank, reportedly made a video call to his wife around 10pm, during which he expressed concerns about harassment from a superior at work. Moments later, on the same call, he allegedly hanged himself.

In shock, Vivek’s wife contacted his friends, who quickly arrived at the apartment and informed the police. Officers from Talaghattapura subsequently arrived at the scene, where they conducted an inspection and transferred the body for a post-mortem examination. Although no suicide note was found, initial inquiries indicate that workplace harassment may have contributed to his decision. The police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating the circumstances. Bank officials are expected to be summoned to address the allegations of harassment. Further investigations are ongoing.
