BENGALURU, 27 FEB

Ashoknagar police announced on Thursday that they have apprehended seven individuals, including two known rowdy sheeters, in relation to the murder of Haider Ali, who was brutally killed near the Football Stadium last week.

The manhunt to locate the remaining suspects is ongoing, with the investigation resulting in the capture of Nayaz Pasha and Rizwan, notorious rowdy-sheeters from Bengaluru and Shivamogga, according to police sources at Salar News.

Investigators revealed that the attack was rooted in long-standing personal rivalries among local gangs. At approximately 1.15am on 23 February, Haider Ali was ambushed shortly after departing a pub with friends. While riding his friend’s bike en route home, a group of eight to ten men lying in wait intercepted him.

The assailants first crashed their vehicle into the bike, causing Ali to fall onto the road. They then mounted a savage attack, employing machetes and iron rods to kill him on the spot before fleeing the scene.
