Bengaluru, 31 Dec
City Police Commissioner B
Dayananda has issued a stern warning against any form of nuisance, harassment,
or misbehaviour during the New Year celebrations in the City. Dayananda advised
revellers to refrain from using whistle and full face-mask
Addressing the media on Tuesday, Commissioner Dayananda assured citizens that
the police department has made comprehensive arrangements to ensure a safe and
enjoyable environment across the city. “Some individuals create disturbances by
whistling, shouting, and making excessive noise during celebrations. This will
no longer be tolerated,” he stated firmly. The Commissioner also warned against
the misuse of full-face masks to conceal identities, emphasising that such
behaviour will be strictly dealt with.
He appealed to the public to celebrate responsibly, keeping in mind the
presence of women and children. “Wearing scary masks and engaging in violent or
unruly behaviour can alarm others, particularly families. We encourage everyone
to enjoy the festivities in a safe and respectful manner,” he added.
To maintain law and order, the entire city police force, from constables to
senior officers, will be on duty throughout the night. No personnel have been
granted leave, and patrols will cover not only central Bengaluru but also the
city’s outskirts, he said.
The city police chief urged motorists to avoid drink-driving and speeding,
stressing the importance of road safety during the festive season. -Salar News
