BENGALURU, 20 DEC
The Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP)
on Friday unveiled a revamped version of their official website btp.gov.in
featuring advanced functionalities such as real-time traffic updates and
seamless payment of traffic fines.
The upgraded portal was launched by the City Police Commissioner B Dayananda. "The
updated website introduces a live traffic congestion map powered by Google Maps
to provide users with real-time updates on traffic conditions," said
Dayananda.
Areas of high congestion are
highlighted in red and alternate routes with shorter travel times are suggested
to help commuters avoid delays.
Enhanced data analytics now underpin the platform, offering comprehensive
insights into the city’s traffic situation, including live updates on road
closures, diversions, and congestion. "Users can report traffic
violations, register complaints or suggestions and pay or dispute traffic fines
through dedicated sections," said Dayanand.
The daily traffic updates and alerts shared on social media by individual
traffic police stations and the DCP offices will also be consolidated on the
website.
The launch comes on the heels of
the Bengaluru Traffic Police receiving three prestigious awards for their
innovative use of technology in traffic monitoring and regulation.
The website was designed and developed by the Centre for e-Governance,
Government of Karnataka. -Salar News
